Intensive Individual Support Services (IISS):

Personalized one-on-one support that helps children with autism develop the skills they need to be more independent and successful in everyday life.

Individualized coaching, education, and support for caregivers to help strengthen families and promote long-term success.

Eligibility Overview

To qualify for Autism Waiver services in Maryland, individuals must:

  • Have a developmental disability that:

    • Manifests before age 22

    • Is likely to continue indefinitely

    • Results in limitations in major life activities

  • Complete the Maryland Autism Waiver Application (available through MDH)
